About Aaron
Meet Dr. Aaron Santmyire
A Passion for Caring
Dr. Aaron Santmyire is a husband, father, nurse practitioner, author, host of The Clarity Podcast, and, most importantly, a follower of Jesus. He is from the “almost heaven” state of West Virginia and has a Doctor of Nursing Practice from West Virginia University, an MBA from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Missions from Southeastern University. Aaron has spent the last twenty years of his life serving in Africa, specifically in Burkina Faso, Madagascar, and Kenya. He loves to fish for trout, eat homemade apple pie, talk to his orchids, and cheer on the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Author and Podcaster
Born from a desire to counteract the world’s growing indifference, Aaron’s journey as an author and podcaster is driven by the belief that every act of caring matters. By sharing stories and engaging in meaningful dialogue, Aaron aims to inspire a culture of belonging and significance, proving that caring can indeed change the trajectory of our world. Check out the latest episode of The Clarity Podcast, or grab a copy of his book, A Caring Life to learn more about how he inspires believers to be healthy and whole. His newest title, A Caring Family, releases December 10, 2024.
World Missionary
In January 2021, Aaron Santmyire and his family moved to Nairobi, Kenya. Currently, their two main roles include serving as the Assemblies of God World Missionary (AGWM) Area Directors for East Africa and leading Africa House Care.
As AGWM Area Directors for East Africa, the Santmyires are strategically engaging with 14 teams across 17 countries, including the Indian Ocean Basin, the Horn of Africa, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi. The vision is to see a healthy church within walking distance of every African. Their mission is to plant, nurture, and partner with National Churches. The Santmyires are there to serve, lead and encourage those teams as they serve the Lord in their contexts.
Africa House Care is a continent-wide initiative started in April 2020 that offers member care for all missionaries serving in Africa. It includes seven areas of care that are critical in the lives of missionaries: Emotional Health, Safety and Security, Physical Health, Family and Singles Health, Relational Health, Sexual Health, and Spiritual Health. As missionaries are strengthened to live whole and healthy lives – whether serving as a single or as a family – they will be able to stay on the field longer and serve the Lord in the areas and ministries He has called them to.
THE SANTMYIRE FAMILY
Aaron and Heather are Assemblies of God World Missionaries (AGWM) based out of Nairobi, Kenya. They currently serve as East Africa Area Directors. Their children, Isabelle and Josiah are students at Evangel University. The Santmyire family has served AGWM Africa since 2002 beginning in Burkina Faso, spending 14 years in Madagascar, and most recently relocated to Kenya in 2021. They are on itineration from August 2024-August 2025.
